1. Agreement to these terms
By using the Find a Rancher website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service. The site is operated by [Company legal name] ("Find a Rancher", "we", "us"). If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. How Find a Rancher works
Find a Rancher is a marketplace that connects you with independent ranches. We run the website and checkout; the ranch named on the product page raises, processes and ships your order.
Details such as breed, raising practices and processing facility come from each ranch's listing.
3. Orders and pricing
Your order is accepted once we send an order confirmation email. We may cancel an order if a product becomes unavailable, a listing contains a pricing error, or we suspect fraud; in that case, we refund everything you paid.
Weights, cut counts and yields on product pages are estimates, so the amount you receive may vary. Prices are in US dollars, and taxes and shipping are shown at checkout.
4. Deposits and remaining balance
Some products are reserved with a deposit. You pay the deposit at checkout, and the remaining balance is due on the date shown in your order. Taxes and shipping may be included in the remaining balance.
Your card is saved by our payment provider when you pay the deposit. By placing a deposit order, you authorize us to charge that card for the remaining balance on or after the due date. [We will email you a reminder about 7 days before the balance is due.]
If the charge fails, we will ask you to update your payment method. If the balance is still unpaid [X] days after the due date, we may cancel the order.
5. Processing dates and shipping
Many products are prepared after the ranch's next processing date. The ranch sets this date, and it is an estimate. If it changes, we will tell you and move your balance due date to match.
Ranches ship only to the states listed on each product page, on their own shipping days. Delivery times are estimates.
Meat is perishable. Please make sure someone can bring the package inside and refrigerate or freeze it on arrival. We are not responsible for spoilage caused by a wrong address or a package left unattended after delivery.
6. Cancellations and refunds

To cancel an order before the remaining balance is charged, email us at [support email]. Once the balance is charged and the order is processed, it can no longer be cancelled.
If a ranch cancels your order or cannot fulfill it, we refund everything you paid, including the deposit.
7. Damaged or missing items
If your order arrives damaged, thawed or incomplete, email us within [48 hours] of delivery at [support email]. Include your order number and photos of the package and products. We will work with the ranch to replace the items or refund them.
8. Your account and use of the site
You must be at least 18 years old to place an order. Please give accurate contact, shipping and payment details, and keep your account login private.
Text, photos, logos and ranch stories on the site belong to us or the ranches. Do not copy them without permission, and do not use the site for anything unlawful.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Ranches provide the descriptions of their products, raising practices and certifications. We review listings but cannot guarantee every detail.
Store and cook all meat according to safe food-handling guidelines.
To the extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim about an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
10. Changes, governing law and contact
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version, and changes apply to orders placed after they are posted.
