Freezer space guide

One cow, one freezer, a year of beef.

How much freezer you need

A whole animal provides roughly 400 pounds of beef, enough to keep your household stocked for about a year. And yes, it all fits in a 15 cubic foot chest freezer. A half needs about 8 cubic feet.

Keeping beef at its best

Everything is vacuum-sealed and frozen solid at the plant, and keeps at best quality for 12 months.

Not sure yet?

Start with a half, or a box of cuts, and see how it fits your household. Every ranch also sells boxes and single cuts by the pound, so you can build up to a full freezer at your own pace.
